The Essence

We are an (extremely) independent System Integration company not affiliated with any other vendor of hardware or software.

We do not sell anything but our hard-earned knowledge based on our own extensive research, in-house testing, and hands-on experience. We have built our business completely on word of mouth (word of email, web, etc.).

We WILL NOT sell your email address, or anything else about you, to anybody, for any reason, ever.

We WILL NOT share your email address, or anything else about you, with anybody, for any reason, ever.

(Obvious exceptions = subpoenas, court orders, etc.)

We WILL send you occasional notices of major product announcements or promotions. And we do mean occasional (a few times a year).

Almost everybody that visits us subscribes to BoomingOrFuming?, our FREE NoSpam NoAds KnowledgeLetter exclusively for Windows NT/2K/XP/K3 SysAdmins, so the number of product/promotional announcements we send out is quite small anyway, even when we do send them out.

What Information We Gather

When you visit any of our Internet sites:

The IP Address of your computer
The name of the site that referred you
What pages you look at on our site
How long you stay with us

When you download or order any of our products:

Your First and Last Name (required)
A Valid Email address (required)
A password of your choice (required)
City, State/Province, Country (optional)

When you download or order any of our fee-based products:

If paying with Credit Card:

Credit Card Number
Credit Card Expiration Date
Billing Address (for Credit Card verification)
City, State, Zip, Country (for Credit Card verification)

If you pay with a PayPal account, PayPal gets your Credit Card number and we get only the funds and your email address.

If paying with Company Check:

Company Name (must be printed on check)
Company Address (must be printed on check)
Company City, State, Zip/Postal Code (must be printed on check)
Country
Company Telephone Number
Contact Person Name and Title

If paying with Corporate Purchase Order (with approved credit):

Same as Company Check -plus- any additional information we deem necessary to evaluate your specific application.

What We Use It For

IP Address and Referring Site are used for statistical purposes to track our success.

What you look at and how long you stay are used to improve the quality of our web sites and our products, and to refine the quality of our products to specific customer needs.

City, State and Country are used to track the geographical coverage of our customer base.

Your Name, Email Address and Password are used to tailor site content to your preferences and to access restricted areas of our sites. In addition, your email address is used for:

Communication about your download(s), order(s) or subscription(s)
Product Delivery (both FREE and "Almost Free")
Delivery of the BoomingOrFuming? (tm) KnowledgeLetter

What We Don't Use It For

Wasting your time or ours.

"Special Offers" from "affiliated sites", "our partners", or any such thing.
